I am lovin my EA Sports Active More Workouts

Well I love both the EA Sports Active More Workouts and my GoWear Fit.
Today I started off with workout # 17 of my six week challenge. It was good! It wasn't until I was half way through it when I realized my ankle didn't hurt. Hell yeah... gonna kick some butt today. So I did my workout then did some other things around the house. Decided to go and get a hair cut and get my daughters hair cut. Did some quick grocery shopping where they are remodeling the store. Just about kills you with the fumes of the paint before you can walk out the door. Feel bad for the cashiers. Didn't get anything at the store that I really wanted. I really wanted some of that yummy bread from WholeFoods, too far to drive today though. I will get a few for my trip soon. Went home had some english muffin pizzas ( made with double fiber english muffins, organic tomato sauce, sliced black olives and cheese then toasted in the oven) I should have gotten the ricotta and basil thats the kind of pizza I like ( double fiber english muffin, spread ricotta on it sprinkle with basil, little organic tomato sauce, sprinkle with romano cheese then bake it) Any way, I got my hair cut only about 1/2 inch off and added a few more layers. Took a shower then just sat around for a bit.  While the kids ate dinner I got in some more workouts, what I labeled as "ankle friendly" on my custom workouts. Did that and decided that I wanted to do more boxing, so I made a custom boxing workout which I labeled "boxing". I know how original on the naming huh. I did that and man I was pumped for the longest time too. I was sweating my butt off with that too. I have it set on hard for my custom workouts. After my workouts I decided I was going to make some more custom workouts. I made one for "step" , "squash" and "running" which I named them as such lol. I guess when I look at the name I will know what they are. After all that I went to my garage and finished off my steps for the day, right now my GoWear Fit says I have taken 16,148steps. 16,148 is about 8 miles. I enjoyed my walking tonight, much easier than last nights. Last night I suffered through my steps my feet just ached.  I am starting to get tired and soon it will be time for bed.

wahoooo #18 tomorrow. till then see ya later

yesterday

so yesterday was tough. I was super tired.
I went to the park with the kids and let them run around in hopes that it would wear them out. Success!
I didn't do a "workout" yesterday. I did walk in my garage though. All 15k steps were gotten in. But it was a really tough 15,000. my feet ached and they still do. I do have to get to EA Sports Active More Workouts Workout #17.. 8 workouts left until my first six week challenge is done. I will start another one shortly after this one ends. Only this time on hard. I have yet to make it back to the gym, hopefully I will by Thursday.
I have appointments and kids school events all week. now that I am saying that Friday I have to be at the kids school again for more stuff. Then they are off for two weeks for track break. We are planning a trip but its still up in the air whether we are officially going. If not we will wait until the end of March to go. Busy life. lol
Back to fittness
My GoWear Fit is working great I am meeting my goals and then some. We will see on Monday what my weekly results are. Hopefully better than .50 inch like last week. (think thats what is was) . Then on the 4th I will do another progress picture since that will be 2 weeks ago that I took the last one. Hoping for a big change like last time. Though I am not dropping pounds fast I do feel better and slimmer. Slow and steady wins the race and the whole goal of this is to keep it off for good. No quick fixes.
So with all this information today, I will get off of here and do my first workout today.
I will be back later.

brrrrr

Its cold here in the house... I did my # 17 EA Sports Active More Workouts, plus a custom ab workout on EA also. I got in my 15k steps. I ate ice cream and a brownie for dinner tonight lol. It wasn't that good either.
oh well. Probably won't do that again for a while. I think a baked apple would have tasted better.
I didn't do much else today aside from cleaning my house which is a huge task.  I will post a much larger update tomorrow, I am exhausted.

Tired

Dang I am tired today. Probably because its raining again. I went out today and did a little shopping at whole foods, found a yummy bread there... Since I had my tooth done I cant have crunchy or chewy food. Believe me its harder than it sounds, most food is either crunchy or chewy. Oh well. I will survive. I haven't gotten all my steps in yet today but I will. Right now I am at 8397 for steps only 6603 left to go. (yes I used a calculator lol)
I feel like I have walked a million miles today because my right ankle is throbbing. This will be fairly short for tonight. Maybe I will post again later after I finish my steps that usually gives me a little energy....
That and the kids are bugging me tonight... Something in the air?

EA Sports Active More Workouts #15 of the six week challenge

I woke up this morning with a tiny bit of a sore ankle. Do I sense a problem? I think so. This will shake your head though. I wore heels today lol. yeah thats really good for a bad ankle. So no more heels until its healed lol.
I did my #15 workout today, it wasn't too bad. Today's was an upper body day, Thank God. EA Sports Active More Workouts told me I burned 174 calories during that workout. My lovely GoWear Fit told me I burned 184... yeah... I was happy. Last night I adjusted my goals for my GoWear Fit. I set it from 3800 calories to burn down to 2800 I thought 3800 is just a bit much seeing as me working my butt off still couldn't make 3800 calories. So 2800 is my new burn goal if I see that its too easy to get to then I will adjust it again. I also changed my step goal to 15,000 steps instead of 10,000. I thought the 10k was just too easy to make so 15k is my new goal. I made all my goals tonight except my vigorous activity, my ankle hurts too much to do that. I didn't end up going to the gym.. Excuse? lazy. I think I have also been eating too much so I am trying harder to cut down the portions. I went out and bought myself jeans and a new tee shirt today. The jeans are a size 14 but they look good on me. Once I lose enough inches I will go and get a smaller pair. I do love these jeans though. I am getting rid of my old jeans that have that stretch in them. I hate stretch jeans they are not comfortable. I will have to post a picture of me in my new outfit. It was nice to feel beautiful today. I felt good. Lots of smiles from me.
Well I best get ready for bed, I love early bedtimes.
Advice for the day: Don't be afraid to be who you are. No one can wear you like you do
meaning don't let someone else dictate how you feel, dress or think only you can make yourself who you are.
make sense?

survived the dentist

I made it through my dental appointment. I am taking pain killers for the day so I can't do a lot of workout. which is fine because I don't have a workout scheduled for today anyway. I feel bad that I won't get my 15k steps in today. I won't even get in my 10k steps because I just don't feel well. However I will be back at it tomorrow. I do plan on hitting the gym tomorrow morning then I will do my EA Sports Active More Workouts  workout and get my 15k steps. Tomorrow will be workout number 15 of 24. I am excited for my workout. I have to take a trip in Feb so I have to pack my Wii with me. I do intend to do another six week challenge after this one but on hard and using a stronger resistance band. I am continuing to wear my ankle braces because I do need the extra support. I feel all foggy right now with the meds so you will have to excuse the bouncing all over the place. So summary of the day, I felt bad for not losing more inches and weight but realized that I have lost the two pounds a week I set out to lose when I started. This isn't the biggest loser, I am trying to keep off my weight for good. So slow and steady wins the race (doesn't make me not want instant gratification though lol)  I am mad that I am not well enough to get my steps in but glad the dentist didn't kill me. I am ready for tomorrow.

Weigh and measure day

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I weighed in at 191.0 which if you look at my last official weigh in it was 193.0 so over the week I lost 2 pounds. I think this has taught me a lesson, don't weigh yourself more than the once a week because your body fluctuates up and down 1-2lbs every day. Oh well. So on the measuring. I stayed the same as last week except I lost .50 in my right thigh and .25 in my waist.
I am glad today I don't HAVE to do a workout but I probably will walk today in my garage. I decided last night that my new step goal will be 15,000 which is about 7.5 miles. On the 23rd my steps were a little over 16k and last night the 24th they were a little over 15k. So I met that goal.  My over all goal since I started was to lose about 2lbs a week which is about what I am averaging and to lose inches which I am. Since I started I have lost 10.5 inches and 8lbs measurement was taken on the 1st of this month.I did my #14 workout last night, I burned about 180 calories on it and according to my GoWear Fit it was accurate. I started my EA Sports Active More Workouts on the 2nd of January and so far I am impressed. It seems to work for me. So yesterday I burned 2915 calories, 20 minutes of vigorous and 118 minutes of moderate activity, and took 15344 steps. I only slept for 5hrs and 8 minutes which is 80%, I had a tough time going to sleep. So I am meeting all my goals except my calorie burn which I think I have set way too high, 3810. Its seems to be accurate because I have it set for me to lose 2lbs a week and thats what I have been doing.
So I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed with this weeks results, I did lose and didn't truly gain.
I know I am losing fat and not muscle because I am working out and doing strength training with my resistance bands. I plan to go back to the gym hoping for tomorrow but we will see.
For today I am getting ready for my dental appointment, ya know excessively brushing your teeth, big time flossing and using mouthwash. I am scared and not looking forward to this. Ok deep breath... whew .....
I will take new progress pictures on February 4th.

Advice of the day:
Don't weigh everyday, only once a week.

EA Sports Active More Workouts # 13 of six week challenge

I must have been super motivated today. I completed more than just my six week challenge workout.
I added, a custom workout, ab workout on hard, and 30 minute step workout. All that on top of my six week challenge #13 workout. Then I went to my garage and walked until I reached 15,000 steps. I love this workout game its great. I am not going to lie it does feel like a workout but its fun too. I am starting to like the Squash part. I hate the stride jumps because it makes my ankles hurt. I feel good though. very positive. I have used this more than any other piece of exercise equipment I have bought and believe me I have bought a TON. treadmill three times, crossbow, two recumbent bikes, total gym, elliptical, and a gazelle. I guess out of those I like the treadmill , and my New Balance 5k bike. I used those the most. I just find it hard to get on those to workout at home. The kids climbing all over me, not to mention them always asking for something when I got started. How can you workout if you always have to stop and do stuff. And they always wait until Your doing something to ask for a snack or whatever.  So I do still have a gym membership  and I like going to the gym. I haven't been since before Christmas but I intend on going back there very soon., but I will still keep up with my EA Sports Active More Workouts and using my GoWear Fit.  Can't say enough about those two. Anyway weigh and measure day will be here Monday. Since I have a dental appt Monday morning you may not hear from me until Tuesday. (I will post my number though on Monday before my dentist it will just be a short short post though)...
ok  Have a good night people.

quick word about my no diet, diet

Since the last two weeks of December  this last year (2009), I said I wouldn't diet. I hate diets and they never work. I have a different approach to making myself better this year. 1. stop eating my feelings 2. see a counselor to address my past issues 3. give myself permission to eat what I want when I want it. 4. do this for me and me only.
By doing these things I am a happier person. Giving myself permission to eat what I want makes it easier to say no to them when I am looking for a food FIX. I feel like I am in control of my body. I can control what I eat. I am responsible for my own health. I have taken charge of me.
I am thinking of throwing my old pants that I can't fit in any longer and here is the reason for that. Looking at clothes that you can't fit into is depressing. Focus in on being happy no matter what size you are and when that happens things just start falling into place. I will buy new clothes as I go.
With the economy the way it is right now its hard for everyone to put your lives in order. I have been so caught up with everything else I have forgotten about myself.  You are important. If you don't take care of you how are you going to take care of others? Take time to do at least one thing for yourself.( at the very least once a month). Take a bubble bath ( I like caramel vanilla its just so soothing and kind of kills the sweet craving) , take time to read a book 30 minutes out of 24 hours isnt much but can relax you. Just little things that count.
Hugs are a huge way to take away stress. Starting a blog ( also have a private blog for my private feelings) its very therapeutic for you. So if you find yourself wanting to eat and know your not hungry go blog how you feel. You will be surprised at what you can learn about yourself by just a little writing .
So stop dieting and start LIVING!

orange you glad I didnt say banana?

OMG I am so hooked on oranges not just oranges but the Cuties.. Those things are so freaking good. I could eat them all day and I do. They are sweet and kind of tart at the same time. Easy to peel, no seeds and pretty much no guilt. 40 calories each 2g of fiber and 145% of your daily vitamin C. Plus you can use all those peels in your garbage disposal to make your disposal smell good.  So there is something I have been eating a TON of.

After wrapping my ankles, icing them and advil my ankles feel better. But knowing that I have weak ankles I decided to buy to ankle braces to wear during the day. I have them on now and my ankles feel stable. I have taken a few more advil just to make sure the inflamed joints are back to square one. I can't risk hurting my ankles permanently. I think I have the problem taken care of though so less worry.

I do plan on walking my 10k steps today but I would like to up it tonight to 12k. hopefully I will make that goal. Tomorrow I have my six week challenge workout. Tonight I may do a custom workout on my EA Sports Active More Workouts. I already have one made up so I just have to hit the workout button and go for it. The workouts I selected aren't ankle killer they do focus a lot of legs but no ankle hops, jumping rope or stride jumps.

Today Steve and I were comped at the buffet for breakfast we both had  one small plate. mine was a small ck fried steak (so salty), and too many pieces of french toast with maple syrup on it. yummmm. I feel worse about what I ate then losing money in the casino. The food has too much salt on it and I feel puffy.
I had a blast though gambling, roulette, black jack, and craps. I am just learning how to play craps but it was fun. I need to read up on it before playing again.

I am still reading "The Lovely Bones" it is interesting. I am enjoying the book. Not sure what I will read next probably how to make millions at craps (dont know if thats a title of a book or not but interested all the same)

I have a dentist appointment on Monday, I am petrified of the dentist. I do like my new dentist though and that alone is a huge step. Anyway the dentist is working on removing all my fillings and replacing them with porcelain crowns so no more silver filling in  my mouth.. Does that mean that if I chewed a piece of tin foil (typing that just sent chills over my body ughghghh)  would it give that same shocking sensation? I have one I have to take care of in the front because I cracked my tooth, but I will do Zoom whitening before that because I want the crown to be as white as possible. My poor daughter Brooke needs braces yeah, my pocketbook aches from the word braces. Its because she sucked her thumb so long. I am sure the smallest one Sierra will need them too, since she is also a thumb sucker. Summit and Brandon never sucked their thumbs. Anyway my assignment today is to get my calming Ipod list for the dentist. I also need to get a new referral to an oral surgeon to get my last two wisdom teeth extracted they both have several cavitys and neither of them fully erupted. So brushing them is near impossible. They are both on the right side, the one on the bottom is sideways and impacted it looks gross too. But its grown into the bone in my jaw. I think that will be my next dental thing to get done. reason for waiting to get it taken out is because the other two I got dry socket with (yes I followed all the dentist instructions and still got it) them, that is way more painful then having kids. I have four kids two naturally and two c-sections and dry socket hurts way more. So the whole point of this is I am having this done and that is that.

I think that's all I have to say for now. may be back later.

Now go get an Orange!

got to rest

I don't want to admit it but my husband is right. I need to take off the rest of today and all of tomorrow and make my ankles better. They hurt so bad right now. so I have my right one wrapped with an ace bandage and will wrap the other when I can find my other one. Its somewhere in this house. I am mad that they hurt of course if I didn't have such a big butt they probably wouldn't hurt like this. Before I decided to take off the rest of today and tomorrow I did finish my EA Sports Active More Workouts six week challenge workout. So I am officially half way through my challenge. I guess I will just be a little more careful with what I eat for the next couple of days.
Let me just say I am NOT on a diet, if I want chocolate I will eat it. saying that has made it easier to say no to chocolate. Giving myself permission to have the things I want makes me want them less. As of right now I am baking a batch of chocolate chocolate chip brownies. I am making them for the kids but I may have one too.

Its raining here in the lovely Las Vegas practically  a river running down my street. All the crappy weather is probably not helping my ankle. so not much else to say today other than my ankles are hurting .

189.5 baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am out of the 90's and into the 80's ... I weighed in at 189.5 this morning.. Thank you EA Sports Active More Workouts and GoWear Fit...

wahoo down more weight

190.0 this morning... almost out of the 90's thank you very much. My ankles are still very sore and my back was horribly sore this morning also. Steve had his dr appt today and then Sierra had one too. She has been coughing in her sleep and wheezing, dr gave her some nasal allergy meds along with oral allergy meds. She had to get blood drawn and then an x-ray so it was a fun day for her lol. She did great though. Still raining here but I kinda like it like this. Wash some of that nasty dust away. I should do another workout but I think today I will rest and let my ankles feel better tomorrow I have to hit it hard. Thursday (tomorrow) I will be half way through my EA Sports Active More Workouts six week challenge.  I really do love this workout and feel like I am getting stronger. I love having my GoWear Fit too its I feel I have to make that thing beep (meeting goals). Keeps me on track. So Thats my boring update today...

weight went back down

I woke up and weighed myself like I do every morning ... today I am back down well almost to where I was a few days ago. 191.5.. I did my EA Sports  Active More Workouts today and added one of the extra workouts with it. brutal... I am sooo ready to be done today. Its raining big time here today, so I didnt spend a lot of time outdoors today. I got inserts to put in my shoes.. putting them in it took pressure off my ankles right away. Of course they are still sore but they dont feel worse kwim? They will feel much better when I take a nice hot bath to soak my hurting body. So this is short tonight I will probably type out something a lot longer tomorrow.
time for relaxing.

weigh in day

so I woke up and I am still very swollen. Could be my allergies kicked up again too. Ok so I weighed in at 193.0 so still up 2 lbs but I lost 3.5 inches this week. .5 inch off my abs 1 inch off my waist, 1 inch off my hips, and .75 inch off my left thigh and .25 inch off my right. I am disappointed with the weight loss for the week but thats just life. I should celebrate me losing 3.5 inches in a week, thats good. I didnt get chunky overnight and its not going to come off overnight.
My loving hubby came home from work and let me go back to bed. so I got to sleep an extra 3hrs of sleep. I am glad too my body was so tired.
The kids weren't too loud but gave him a little hell ha ha ha.... thats what I have to endure every single day.
I am not sure what I am doing today, since its raining. Well more later..

cooking and other stuff

I love to cook. mostly sweet stuff. pies and cakes some candies. almost never use a recipe. each time the dessert is different, I dont write them down. I just go with what ever I want in it and its always good. Never had any complaints. I should start photographing the foods they are pretty. I am totally in the mood for apples and walnuts tonight but I am out of apples :( I will have to get some tomorrow.
I saw a picture tonight of banana pudding that looked yummy but I hate bananas so that probably wont be a good thing for me to cook unless I am not eating it. Nothing with raisins in it either. lol. I got some yeast a couple of days ago but I am unsure what I will make with it. I was thinking of some sort of cinnamon roll type thing but maybe with orange/cranberry cream cheese filling. maybe a little walnut/brown sugar sprinkles on top?  I miss cooking. Its a lot harder when I have a diabetic husband and picky kids. When it comes to dessert I am not too picky.
The kids are wild tonight making it hard for me to get in an extra workout. They are in bed now not sleeping but in bed. I am left sitting here with a plucked feather boa all over my stairs and loft. Who's idea was it to get them feather boa's? So in the morning bright and early the kids will be up and cleaning the mess from their sugar high. I probably should go and finish my 10k steps and then I am taking an epsom salts bath to hopfully pull some of the water off my legs and hands. plus my ankles still hurt.
so take care people... more later

shoes, insoles and socks

This morning I woke up to a surprise. I was so swollen it was ridiculous. I did a lot of exercising yesterday and for that I woke up with a lot of water retention. Swollen enough that my husband came home from work and said WOW what did you do to your face. lol yeah honey thats just what I like to hear first thing in the morning. So I have been drinking more water today to try and flush out the water. I will stick with my weigh in for tomorrow though even if I am still up. I did my #10 workout from EA Sports Active More Workouts this morning but skipped the extra because my ankles hurt like a mutha. I think I need to look for new inserts for my shoes. I have a pretty high arch and my New Balance shoes aren't supporting it very well even though they are new. So I will get the arch support I was using because it works for me. I use the SOF SOLE WOMEN'S ARCH SUPPORT INSOLES, they are pretty good and not too bad for price about 20.00 for the pair. Of course I could have gotten the Mizuno's like I usually get because they work well for people with high arches.
While on the subject of feet. I also have NO  fat in my feet, hmmm weird the only place on my body I could use some fat on but noooo I have to have bony feet. What is up with that? I have to go out and find socks for my skinny feet so that the tongue of the shoe wont hurt the top of my feet. I have found socks for this, they have an extra pad on the top for this. I love these socks but they are a little over priced for socks, so I only own one pair. (sorry if this is sounding like a sales pitch but I want people to know what I am using if they have the same problem) They are Thorlos thick distance walking socks, they are pink and they when I bought them they donate $1.00 for breast cancer research.  Does anyone else have the issue with your shorts giving you a wedgie when you walk. Not all of my shorts do this only my slippery ones and only if I wear thongs but geez.. it is annoying. Cant wear them in public lol.  I have a bad back also and need to get a new back brace other wise doing my workouts is very hard and pretty painful. So on Tuesday I will go to the medical store to find a new one since the old one is horrible and wont stay on anymore. I need one that will go under my clothes. Any suggestions would be helpful..   I havent finished all my walking for the night because the kids are a little hyper. But I will finish tonight.... Dont think my whole blog is about promoting products its not. I just want to help people that have the same problems.  so thats my advice for the night.. Have fun and Be positive

Piggy back rides

As I was walking in my garage again tonight I realized what a good workout I get by giving my kids piggy back rides. It also doubles as time with the kids. I doubt I will be able to keep up with the garage walking once summer get here. Summer time in my garage the temps climb up over 100 degrees. yuck. Probably sweat my butt off though lol. So I did walk a lot in my garage tonight. got in so far at 10:23pm 11,255 steps... wahooo.
I did my EA Sports active today workout number 9 so next Thursday will be half way through my six week challenge. I also add the Island adventure workout (on EA sports active more workouts) on hard . and Holy Cow it was hard. I was sweating so much. 45 minutes and 355 calories burned (tracked calories burned with the GoWear Fit) . On Monday I will weigh in and measure in again. I feel positive about this workout. I am loving both of my new gadgets.  So stay tuned... more later

follow the beat

To find your workout rhythm use music. I find I get a better workout using high beat music. You just notice that your working out less and kind of like dancing. Before you know it your done. Change your music often because just like doing the same old thing over and over gets boring. Any way things that are more important... Results
I am down another pound. I wont measure until Sunday though. I feel like its working for me. I am not dropping massive pounds which leads me to believe that the pounds I am losing are 100% fat. Go me. I am glad I am doing this the right way. I eat what I want when I want it and still lose weight. I just cant diet. its just too hard to stick to a eating plan. just make sure your eating because your hungry and not because your sad, bored, mad, depressed. See that is how I got to where I am now because every time I was sad , bored , mad or depressed I would run to the pantry or fridge. Its hard to break habits like that. Eating your feelings only works for so long before your just eating more and more to get that fix. Food can be a drug, I have used it like that for a long time.
After seeing a Christmas photo I decided to change it. I started going to counseling to deal with problems, and blogging when I am upset or hurt, or what ever emotion I am feeling. On New Years Day I didnt say my resolution was to lose weight (even though I would like to) its to be a better me. To be satisfied with me no matter what size I am. I want to be healthy and the first step to being healthy is loving yourself enough to care. Then exercise. Love is always first. Everything else just follows. So for 2010 I am going to be a better me.
Better mom, better wife, better friend.

need to work harder

I have a bad back so I took it down in intensity. Now that it doesnt hurt again I can kick it up again. I am still doing my EA Sports Active More Workouts and using my GoWear Fit. I am meeting all my goals except calorie burn. I need to kick that in overdrive. I feel more positive about my body knowing that I am doing all I can to make it the body I want to live in for the rest of my life. I am trying to set a good example for my kids. I dont want them to think about weight but I want them to think about health. What they can do to be healthy. Make healthy snack choices, and stay active. I know they are kids though and dont always want to eat healthy. Thats fine we dont want to spend our lives telling ourselves what we cant do. Focus on the can do, get that wonderful can do attitude. I want them to talk about why they are upset or angry or hurt and not eat those feelings like I do. I want them to be better than me. Isn't that what all parents want for their kids? The girls like to do workouts with me and when I run around in the garage or jump rope they want to do that too. Its good for me too for two reasons, one I get to spend time with them and two I could use the company. Its so cute to see them jumping rope. I think I will get a hula hoop today also because that is fun and they like it.
Next week I hope my lovely husband feels better enough to start back to the gym. I know I could go without him but I like going with him. Again time to kick it up a notch. I am feeling a lot better when I am working out my body just seems happier. I am trying to get 8hrs of sleep a night and so far I get my eight hours. I get up slowly lol. but after a little while I am moving around pretty good. I am so excited about the changes I have made for me this year. Its wonderful to feel like your moving forward. I am not on a diet I am on the I want to enjoy my life plan. So if I want chocolate, dang it I will have a piece. Any way live life to the fullest no regrets .live, play like you dont care what anyone things, laugh more, smile more, and be proud of who you are.

EA Sports Active More Workouts

I began to do EA Sports Active More Workouts on January 2, 2010 putting my whole heart into my workouts.
I had done my research on this workout for the Wii and decided that I would give it a try. I was hopeful but ready for disappointment too, after all it was a video game workout. So I put the leg strap on, I bought the off brand strap because it was half the price at GameStop. Maybe that wasn't the best idea because my legs are big and despite the writing on the box claiming its for adults it has to be for kids. I put it on anyway in hopes that when I lose weight that it will be more comfortable. I put in my game disk and began the set up. After the set up I select six week challenge. I know I can stick with this for six weeks. So I clicked on began workout #1 it asked me to step on the Wii Balance Board to weigh in. Really already I barely know you and you are asking me to tell you my weight. So I step on the board, 199.0 pounds, whoa I haven't weighed this much since my first daughter was born. Ok so the bad part is over or so I think. I set my goal earlier to 140.0 pounds. The workout begins, it starts with a warm up then starts the real fun. The game told me to put the leg strap on (oops already did that) then slip the nunchuk in the sleeve. So after following the directions and watching the tutorial I begin to run with my trainer. After about 5 or 6 seconds the leg strap starts to fall off me. dang I knew I should have bought the better one. So I stop the workout and put on shorts hoping that the strap on my skin would hold better, It did.  So back to the workout, I spent the next 25 minutes running, squatting and jumping rope, sweating my butt off the whole time. Whew what a workout, I guess this is more of a workout than my Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus. I forgot to add that I set mine to moderate. I have now been doing the EA Sports Active More Workouts for a little over a week, doing the workouts every other day except Sat and Sun which I do on both days. So my schedule for this workout is Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat. You have to do four days on and three off a week for the six week challenge. Today January 11th I decided to weigh, and measure myself. I am happy to report I am 193.0 pounds. I  lost 6 pounds and lost a total of 7.25 inches in NINE DAYS. 1 inch off each thigh, 1 inch off my hips, 2.5 inch off my Abs and 1.75 inches off my waist. So there is something in EA Sports Active More Workouts that is working. I am excited and encouraged. I will continue to update my progress.

GoWear Fit

Ever since I figured out what they were wearing on The Biggest Loser I just had to have one.
Well theirs in a BodyBugg and mine is a GoWear Fit but they are the same. Mine just doesn't tie into 24Hour Fitness. Which is fine because I don't belong to that gym anyway. I haven't always been a heavy person in fact I have only been heavy for three years. I am just tired of being like this. You know where someone takes a photo of you and then uploads it to Facebook. You stumble across the photo and say OMG is that what I really look like. Well that finally happened to me this year, a lovely photo of me at Christmas and what am I doing in the photo? Standing in the kitchen with food... So after the tears and the anger of why did this person post this awful photo of me, I decided to change it. I haven't always been big so I do know how to get small.  I researched the internet for the BodyBugg and came across the GoWear Fit on Amazon. I read all the reviews I could get my hands on, after all the best way to buy things are by reviews. So with all the positive reviews I took the plunge. I bought the GoWear Fit and the display to go with it. I eagerly waited for it to come in, the display came in within 2 days. The arm band piece didn't come until 8 or 9 days later. Gosh I thought it would never get here. So I run upstairs, charge it and download the software.  After all that was done I put it on, it is comfortable but I am still in the "I know its there stage". I have been wearing it for a week and have lost about 3 pounds. I have it set for targets like 3810 calories to burn a day although I have yet to meet that one.  45 minutes of moderate activity and 15 minutes of vigorous activity. After the first day of wearing it I wondered how I can get to the vigorous activity, I found that jumping rope is a quick way to get that done. As for the moderate activity I do my EA Sports Active More Workouts and that takes care most of it plus I get some vigorous activity out of that too.  (I'll talk more about EA Sports Active More Workouts later)  Then I have steps taken I have mine set to 10000 steps a day. All I did before was sit on my couch watching the Price Is Right and Lets Make A Deal so 10000 steps is probably about 9950 more that I was taking ha ha. You know count the steps to the fridge and the bathroom. That a bit of an exaggeration , I do go get my kids from school and other things but I know I wasn't taking 10k in steps before. After I put on the GoWear Fit I began to keep track of my activity, I have started walking in circles in my garage. It sounds lame walking in circles but any walking helps I am sure. So I am meeting my 10k in steps and will probably up it to 15k in steps in a few days. The next thing is tracking your sleep, the first night I only got 6 hours of sleep and laid down for 9 so it was 72% for that night. Its gotten better since then though, like last night was 92%.  I like this feature, so does my husband who has talked about putting mine on for the night to see how his sleep is. The last feature is nutrition which BodyMedia is lacking in, their catalog is so small it doesn't even have grapefruit in it. I think I will have to use something like The Daily Plate to log my food. Overall I give GoWear Fit two thumbs up so far. I will continue to wear it and update this blog on how its going with it.
So for my starting weight I am 5'8 199.0lbs
My goal is to get to 140.0 which up until 3 years ago was my normal.
Tomorrow I will talk about my EA Sports Active More Workouts
